If you want to be immersed in good food, great shopping and live sport, Caxton Street and The Barracks has you covered.
Caxton Street exudes an energetic vibe under the imposing shadow of Suncorp Stadium, coming alive most weekends due to the scores of footy fans who converge on the strip after NRL, Rugby Union or Soccer games. The many alfresco restaurants cater to different tastes - Indian, Thai, Modern Australian and the iconic Gambaro's, famous for its fresh seafood.
The Barracks has become a landmark retail and commercial hub, successfully integrating heritage-listed buildings and contemporary architecture. Originally the site of the local city jail before ironically becoming a police station and later army barracks, The Barracks is steeped in history. Offering a unique range of dining and shopping options, the Barracks provides a charming alternative to the larger lifestyle villages around Brisbane.
