Barringwood Park Vineyard is 15 kilometres south of Devonport en route to Sheffield and Cradle Mountain. The four hectare vineyard is planted out with the traditional cool climate varieties of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, as well as the more recently proven varieties of Pinot Gris, Schonburger and Pinot Meunier-producing table wines from these varieties and a Sparkling Pinot Noir-Chardonnay to be released before Christmas 2003. At the Cellar Door you will have an opportunity to taste the wines produced in the vineyard and/or relax and enjoy a platter of local produce with a glass of one of Barringwood Park's award winning wines. Enhancing this tasting experience is the ambient atmosphere of the Cellar Door, which features the warmth and beauty of natural Tasmanian timbers, and provides stunning views of the vineyard and across picturesque countryside towards Bass Strait.

The Arboretum is a 66 hectare nature reserve near Devonport in Tasmania's North-West. Only a few kilometres from Devonport but a million miles from care, the 66 hectares of landscape Arboretum, which was founded in 1984, offers you the opportunity to walk among collections of woody plants from around the temperate world, especially including many of Tasmania's plants. Set in a peaceful and beautiful valley, you may see some of Tasmania's wildlife, such as swift parrots and platypus. Cultural and natural heritage combine in the Limestone Heritage Walk, which is free if you self-guide on the walk, and links the geology with a century of human activity contributing to colonial and national development. One hour guided walks are available for a reasonable cost, and can be booked online. Bookings are essential. The Arboretum offers three picnic shelters, 2 general shelters, a platypus observatory and a bird hide on the shore of Flounders Lake. The Tree Park Kiosk offers light refreshments and audio tours, and is operated by volunteers and opens between October and May. Kiosk is open 11am-4pm. Eugenana is 15 minutes' drive (11 kilometres/7 miles) South of Devonport.

The Devonport Golf Club—also known as Woodrising— is located on Tasmania’s north west coast. The Club is at Spreyton, a 10-minute (10 kilometres) drive south of Devonport and the Spirit of Tasmania ferry terminal. The Devonport Golf Club offers golfers a challenging, tree-lined, well-bunkered course that has excellent greens. Sitting on a peninsula of land extending to the Mersey River, the course has a fairly flat appearance with gently rolling fairways. The Club offers full catering facilities and a well stocked bar and can cater for functions of up to 200 people. Clubs, pull-buggys and golf carts are available for hire and there is a fully-stocked Pro Shop. In 2008, the Devonport Golf Club continues its role as the home of the annual Tasmanian Open Golf Championships. The Granny Smith Express - a tractor train tour through the orchard with commentary - is the highlight of a visit to Avro Park Orchards. Visitors are welcomed with a fresh, juicy apple and shown the packing line and cool stores. A 10 minute film covers the growing season. The picture is different according to the time of year you visit. October is blossom time, November to January is the growing season and February to April is harvest time.

Spreyton Cider Co. produces premium Tasmanian ciders made from our own apples. Our Cidery located on our working orchards in Spreyton offers tastings for $10, allowing visitors to try all five ciders and receive a glass or stubby of their favourite. Spreyton Cider Co. is the latest venture from Spreyton Fresh, home of the finest Fresh Apple Juice since 1998. Our families have been growing apples in Spreyton since 1908. Building on our expertise in producing the best fresh apple juice, our range of ciders are classic examples of the cider maker's art. All our ciders are made from 100% Tasmanian apples and pears, with most grown in our own orchards right here in Spreyton. We use traditional cider making techniques with a modern twist to create our unique range of ciders. Our cider undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle and is then bottle conditioned to achieve a light carbonation and a supreme flavour. We have five ciders in our range and the Vintage cider won bronze at the 2013 Australian Cider Awards. You may wish to visit Barringwood Park Vineyard, which makes premium Tasmanian Wines whilst in the area.

The Truffledore is a boutique truffle farm in Northwest Tasmania. We grow French Black Winter Truffles which are harvested during June, July and August. During this period we offer small group Hunt & Harvest tours, which are a four-hour experience that includes a tour of the truffiere with our harvester and truffle dog to see firsthand how we find and harvest our black truffles, followed by a four-course lunch lavished with fresh truffle! You'll never forget the excitement of your first truffle hunt, discovering these black treasures in the soil, and the aroma of fresh truffle wafting through the air as you sit down for your four-course truffle meal! These are available every Saturday during the winter months. We are open for tastings, truffle product sales and lunch every Friday, Saturday, Sunday (Friday and Sunday only during harvest season) from 10 am to 5 pm.
