Cooking classes are offered by a series of experienced chefs from Tasmania and elsewhere, who will show you how to create great foodie experiences from the wide range of fresh produce, meats, seafood, and wines available in Tasmania. Tranquilles has a commercial kitchen which has recently been expanded to provide enough space and facilities to run the cooking classes. These classes will draw on the experience of a range of chefs who will teach guests and participants how they can prepare great food using the wide range of fresh local Tasmanian produce that is available. Tranquilles offer a range of activities such as wine and cheese nights, in which you can expand your food horizons and discuss what you have learned in the classes. Port Sorell is a 20 minute drive (20 kilometres/12 miles) East of Devonport.

The Port Sorell Golf Club is located at Shearwater, on Tasmania's central north coast. Built around the Shearwater Country Club, the nine-hole Port Sorell Golf Club is a well-maintained, private course with views of the ocean. Available to club members and guests of the Shearwater Country Club, the Port Sorell Golf Club has a fully-stocked Pro-shop, and club hire is available. After your round, you can enjoy a drink or tasty meal in the Country Club at Beaches Bar and Bistro or The Dunes al fresco dining and entertainment area. Port Sorell is a place to relax.
