The left hand track goes to Walls' Lookout car park and it is a 30 minute walk to the lookout of the Grose Gorge and Walls. The road to the right goes to another car park where there is a choice of two walks, one to Rigby Hill and the other to Pierces Pass and the Blue Gum Forest. The village of Mount Tomah is located approximately 40 kilometres (25 miles) west of Richmond, on the Bells Line of Road. The peak of Mount Tomah is 1,016 metres (3,333 feet) above sea level. Its most distinguished feature, the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden, is located on the north side of that road. The garden was established in 1972. Entry into the garden is free. Sandstone woodlands and gullies rest upon a basalt cap making it possible to grow cool climate plants from around the world.
