Belvoir St Theatre

25 Belvoir Street, Surry Hills NSW 2010

When the Nimrod Theatre building in Belvoir Street, Surry Hills, was threatened with demolition in 1984, more than 600 people – ardent theatre lovers together with arts, entertainment and media professionals – formed a syndicate to buy the building and save this unique performance space in inner-city Sydney.

Over 25 years later, this space, known as Belvoir St Theatre, continues to be the home of one of Australia’s most celebrated theatre companies – Belvoir. Under the artistic leadership of Ralph Myers and General Manager Brenna Hobson, Belvoir engages Australia’s most prominent and promising playwrights, directors, actors and designers to realise an annual season of work that is dynamic, challenging and visionary. As well as performing at home, Belvoir regularly takes to the road, touring to major arts centres and festivals both nationally and internationally.

Dave's Brewery Tours are all about taking you to where good craft beer is made and where good things are happening. They bring together people wanting to taste and experience the best local beer with those who make it. They want to bring people closer to the toil and strife of what it takes to produce fine craft beer. To them, it's more than the art and science of brewing or the mechanics of a micro-brewery, it's the stories, the legends, the scars of effort and devotion to doing something different. It's about connecting people who are passionate about what they consume with those who are equally as passionate about what they produce. They promise that you will have a great day out, meet some interesting people, and taste some amazing locally produced craft beers along the way. What could be better than that?

Mark Hanham Gallery

164A Devonshire St, Surry Hills NSW 2010
Born 1978 in Paddington, Sydney, Mark Hanham studied at National Art School then completed a Master's Degree in Art at the College of Fine Art. Mark Hanham was attracted to art at an early age and had an exceptional talent in capturing perspective, even when four years old - he has been drawing continually ever since. In 2011 at the age of 33, he took the almost unprecedented step of opening his own gallery in Sydney's busy Crown Street Surry Hills, exhibiting only Mark Hanham art. The gallery has defied economic downturns to become one of the most successful galleries in Sydney. Mark Hanham's style is essentially 'Contemporary Figurative'. With his large scale and brash works, he will take us on a journey of discovery into his own world. A modern 'Action Painter', he is influenced and inspired by Jackson Pollock and his drip painting.
