The Jamieson Museum, housed in the old Jamieson Courthouse, is maintained by the Jamieson & District Historical Society and is open on weekends between Melbourne Cup weekend and Easter. Lake Nillahcootie is located on the Broken River in north-eastern Victoria, 36 kilometres south of Benalla. Bordering the edge of the Mount Samaria State Park, Lake Nillahcootie is a beautiful location with plenty to offer. Lake Nillahcootie is a popular place for fishing, swimming and boating. It also has excellent picnic facilities and an attractive lawn area near the dam. Access to the Lake foreshore is restricted as most of the land is privately leased. Camping is not permitted around the foreshore of the lake. Picnic and boating areas are open to the public from 8:00am to sunset daily. Boats can be launched from the main boat ramp. Visitors are advised to be aware of the dangers associated with low water levels and exercise caution....

The very popular Granny’s Flat Camping Reserve is located on the Jamieson River, off the Jamieson-Licola Road. Access is four wheel drive in wet weather. It attracts anglers, campers, bushwalkers and four wheel driving enthusiasts. Mitchell’s Bridle Trail, a 21 kilometre walking track starts from here and follows the Jamieson River to Mitchell’s Flat.
